Imagine a world where you don't have to actively look for an eye cream that can be layered under your makeup. Imagine a world where your makeup product is a skincare hybrid for those on-the-go days. Well, you don't have to. Let me introduce you to the IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Dark Spots Concealer + Serum. Read on for my thoughts and a link to my reels to testing this out.

Bye Bye Dark Spots, how?

  • Dual-ended concealer and skincare hybrid with a doe-foot applicator on one end and a kabuki brush on the other for buffing.

  • Provides medium, buildable coverage, with a lightweight, creamy texture.

  • Developed with dermatologists and plastic surgeons, it’s clinically tested to fade the look of dark spots, fine lines, dark circles under eyes and uneven skin texture (see their website for source/credentials).

  • Formulated with 2% niacinamide, hyaluronic acid and caffeine, so the more you use it, the better results you will see.

  • Covers any dark spots or use everywhere on your face to brighten.

  • For all skin types. Vegan and fragrance-free.

My thoughts:

Click here to watch my try-on reels to see its texture, performance and the results.

Pros:

  • Easy to blend and buildable.

  • Has a doe-foot applicator.

  • A little goes a long way - I used more than a dot and big mistake! (See reels from link above to find out why)

  • Does not dry quick - have enough time to blend and buff.

  • Worked well with my foundation, setting powder and spray.

  • Didn't settle into my fine lines after approx. 5 hours wear.

  • Did not look cakey.

  • Natural finish.

  • Didn't oxidise.

Cons:

  • The kabuki brush is a bit too stiff for under eye but should work okay with dark spot (for dotting).

  • Had to use two layers for my under eye area.

Notes:

  • I chose the wrong shade! I chose this before I went to Cape Verde so it looks a bit yellow having received this after my holiday.

  • First photo shows swatches of the two IT Cosmetics Concealer to compare their textures. BBDS swatches is the one closest to my wrist - the bottom row.

  • Last photo below shows comparison of before (a little bit of foundation on) versus after (two layers of the BBDS Concealer).

Final remarks:

My rating: 7.5/10

I still need to see its long-term results but if it does work, then I will be buying one in the right shade next time! I will be wearing this underneath my foundation from now on to cover the yellow hue but it is doing its job so far, with widely-known skin-loving ingredients, so it is definitely something that is worth swatching, next time you are out and about.
